About the Artist

Michele was born in New York along side a twin brother, to two Caribbean born parents. Her early years were spent traveling with her military mom. Her environment was a constant change, but one thing that stayed consistent in her life was her love of drawing. From a very early age, Michele loved all things creative to include but not limited to, musicianship, craftsmanship, design, and artistry.

With unflinching support from her mother and nudge from her high school art teacher, Michele applied to Howard University’s Division of Fine arts. During her four year study, Michele would be the youngest artist accepted into the 2011 Art of Can in Miami by Red Bull. She would go on to receive numerous awards for the university’s annual art exhibitions, and participate in an art auction to help raise funds for young black men pursuing higher education. She excelled in the vivacious and rich atmosphere of the historic university and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013.

For twelve years, Michele designed and made jewelry using exotic woods and brass. She attended Penland School of Crafts where she would hone her self taught skills, however art has always been her first love.

With twelve plus years working in the 3D, Michele applied her skills and knowledge to her creative process, finding a love for paper cutting.
